Eco Foot Prints
|
There are numerous resources available on the web as well as in hard copy. Many of the resources that teachers (or schools) have already collected over the years remain valuable and relevant. The Ecological Footprint programme provides a framework for encouraging a broader view of such resources. While students are building a worm farm or frog pond, or while they are studying electricity or recycling, they can also recognise the role that this plays in the global environment. Through recognising that many of the things we do, or the things we should do, impact on our ecological footprint we gain a richer and more enduring perspective on our world and our role in it. The following resource pages have been organised to reflect the major teaching streams that we have so far introduced. As part of the pilot project we expect to expand this framework in accordance with classroom initiatives and experiences.
